Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) witnessed the signing of an investment agreement for Beybi Egy Industrial Gloves Manufacturing to establish a new factory in the Sokhna Industrial Zone, marking another step in the zone’s strategy to attract export-focused manufacturing projects.

The project will be located within two ready-built factory units developed by Main Development Company (MDC), the SCZone’s development arm, and will involve investments of US$1.5 million (approximately EGP 74.4 million). The facility will occupy 2,800 square meters and is expected to generate 100 direct jobs.

Commercial operations are scheduled to begin by the end of this year. The company also plans to expand production capacity in the future to strengthen its presence in international markets.

The factory will manufacture specialized industrial safety gloves used in occupational protection and workplace safety. The project targets export markets and supports advanced manufacturing linked to Egypt’s textile and industrial supply chains.

The agreement was signed by Walid Youssef, Managing Director of Main Development Company (MDC), and Amir Kaya, Chairman of Beybi Egy Industrial Gloves Manufacturing.

Commenting on the project, Gamal El-Dien said the Sokhna Industrial Zone has become one of SCZone’s leading integrated manufacturing hubs, benefiting from advanced industrial and logistics infrastructure that enables companies to efficiently serve both domestic and international markets.

He added that the ready-built factories initiative has become an effective model for accelerating industrial investment, allowing manufacturers to begin operations more quickly while supporting export-oriented industries and increasing the value added of Egyptian-made products.

According to the SCZone chairman, the new investment also reflects the authority’s strategy of attracting specialized industries that complement integrated industrial value chains. Industrial safety gloves represent a high-value manufacturing segment closely linked to the textile and broader manufacturing sectors, while helping meet growing demand in export markets and strengthening industrial integration within the Sokhna Industrial Zone.

Main Development Company (MDC) has successfully implemented the ready-built factories project in Sokhna as part of the SCZone’s efforts to provide investors with faster market entry and a fully equipped industrial environment.
