SCZone Prepares Abu Khalifa Area for Investment during 2023

Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), reviewed the efforts exerted to prepare the Abu Khalifa Industrial Zone to receive various types of investments during 2023, and the developments in preparing the infrastructure for the urgent zone within the limits of 800,000 square meters out of a total area of 19.5 square kilometers, to expedite its preparation for investment.

This came during a session of the Local Administration Committee in the House of Representatives, chaired by Ahmed El-Segini, to discuss developments related to the Abu Khalifa industrial zone in the Qantara region, west of Ismailia Governorate, which is affiliated with the Suez Canal Economic Zone and is one of the most important assets that the state and the economic zone seek to maximize the benefit from and its resources and make the most of it. 

The authority also communicates with various investors who work in medium and light industries due to the region’s readiness for various types of industries and its proximity to many sources of raw materials, in addition to its proximity to the Delta and the Tenth of Ramadan City, meaning that it is also close to the local markets, and it targets the economic zone of the Suez Canal. Settling many industries within this region, including small industries, food industries, and textiles.

Gamal El-Din added that the economic zone has paid great attention to infrastructure works in the industrial zone in Abu Khalifa Al-Qantara, west of Ismailia Governorate, especially electricity and utilities works, which contribute to attracting investors to the region and give it a competitive advantage due to its proximity to the navigational course of the Suez Canal.

This meeting in the House of Representatives comes after the end of the plenary session within the agenda of the meeting of the Local Administration Committee to respond to the committee’s inquiries regarding the extent of development achieved by the economic zone in the file of the industrial zone west of Qantara, as the state pays great attention to what the economic zone of the Suez Canal has achieved in the recent period as one of The most important arms of economic development in Egypt.

It is worth noting that the Suez Canal Economic Zone will open the doors to more investments in the East Ismailia and West El Kantara industrial zones by 2023 due to the completion of the infrastructure and development works necessary for investment, and to achieve the required progress in various industries in parallel with the efforts to localize the green fuel industry in the region.
