SCZone Chairman, Japanese Amb. Discuss Joint Cooperation ahead of Tokyo Tour

Walid Gamal El-Din, Head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) received Oka Hiroshi, the Ambassador of Japan to Cairo and his accompanying delegation, representatives from Toyota Tsusho Company and the representative of the suez canal automotive terminal specialized in operating the Ro-Ro berth in East Port Said.

It is scheduled that the head of the economic zone will visit Tokyo as part of his promotional tours to present investment opportunities to investors abroad and to attract foreign investments in various industries, including the existing Japanese projects in Sokhna and East Port Said.

The embassy, together with the UNIDO office in Tokyo and the Japan Center for Cooperation with the Middle East (JCCME) is organizing a meeting with a delegation from the SCZone and Japanese companies interested and willing to pump investments into the region, as part of the great interest that the economic zone enjoys from various countries of the world, especially after the remarkable development, namely in the field of localization of the various industrial and service sectors.

The Japanese ambassador expressed his happiness with this upcoming tour, due to the authority's capabilities, geographical location, and ease of entry of goods to foreign markets, especially from Asia to Africa and vice versa, as well as its possession of integrated industrial zones and 6 ports connected to the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.

The meeting also touched on holding joint working sessions with Tokyo investors and representatives of companies operating in the industries that the SCZone aims to localize, during the promotional tour, as well as presenting the experience of the Japanese side represented in the Roro dock projects in East Port Said and the Saraya factory for the production of cosmetics from natural herbs in Sokhna.
