SCZone Attracts $15.6 Billion worth of Chinese Investments

Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Walid Gamal El-Din said that his recent promotional visit to China witnessed the conclusion of agreements covering 11 projects, with investments amounting to $15.6 billion, which are planned to be built on 4.9 million square meters and provide about 9,000 job opportunities.

Gamal El-Din added in a statement to the Council of Ministers on Sunday that the visit also witnessed the holding of 12 meetings with several companies, and field visits to factories and huge companies in 4 cities: Hanzhou, Suzhou, Hefei, and Beijing, and new agreements and contracts were signed to attract investments in several fields. Includes green fuels and manufacturing.

El-Din referred to the position of contracts that were attracted to implement projects in industrial zones and seaports, in several sectors of strategic importance. He also discussed the results of the promotional tour he undertook to China, during the period from 15 to 18 October 2023, to complement the results of his previous visit to China during the mid 2023.

This comes as part of a series of international promotional tours carried out by the Suez Canal Economic Zone, with the aim of attracting more Chinese investments and projects to benefit from the great investment opportunities available in the zone, also in cooperation with the important Chinese industrial developer in the region, which is the “TEDA” company in Sokhna, which It is one of the successful models of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and China.
