German Chancellor Olaf Scholz criticized those concerned, saying his country is providing Ukraine with the necessary humanitarian and military assistance.

"A lot of what they say in this country is simply not true and some underestimate the complexity of the issue," Scholz said in an interview with the newspaper "Münchner Merkur."

"If Germany provides the most advanced weapons systems, such as howitzers or anti-aircraft systems, the soldiers must be well trained in their use, otherwise these weapons will be ineffective; moreover, these systems need ammunition," Scholz added.

He noted that anyone who thinks that military equipment can be bought like cars is mistaken.

"I realized I have to take criticism, but I will not allow myself to be discouraged from following a balanced path," the German Chancellor concluded.

Previously the president of Poland criticized the German authorities, who, according to him, did not keep their promise, given to Poland – to supply tanks to replace those that Warsaw provided to Ukraine from its own reserves.

“They didn’t deliver on that promise and, frankly, we’re very disappointed about that,” Duda said in an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt.

According to the agreement, the Eastern European countries agreed to send Soviet-made tanks to Ukraine, which is defending itself from the Russian invasion, and receive more modern military equipment from Germany for them.
