German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Sunday that Germany will continue to support Ukraine, days after Western allies dampened Ukraine's hopes for a rapid shipment of battle tanks.
"We will continue to support Ukraine as long as possible and as comprehensively as necessary," Scholz said at a ceremony to celebrate friendship between Germany and France.
He added, "Together as Europeans to defend our European peace project."
Earlier, the Ukrainian presidency expressed Kyiv's disappointment with Germany's position on the delivery of Leopard 2 tanks.
