German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany has reached the peak of its capacity to provide military aid to Ukraine, yet Berlin does not intend to halt this support.
According to NTV, Scholz stated that Germany's military aid to Ukraine has totaled €28 billion, with the 2024 budget allocating an additional €7 billion for this support.
Scholz mentioned that Berlin recently pledged to supply Kyiv with a third Patriot missile system to encourage other countries to increase their support for Ukraine, stating, "We are giving everything we can."
He emphasized that Germany "will continue to provide aid to Ukraine as long as it is needed."
Regarding the provision of long-range Taurus missiles to Kyiv, Scholz explained that this step is challenging because German military personnel would need to "identify the targets themselves. This is impossible if you want to avoid direct involvement in the conflict and prefer to remain the largest donor to Ukraine in Europe."
