As part of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' efforts to restore and develop archaeological sites and museums in Egypt, Moamen Osman, Head of the Museums Sector of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, recently inspected the restoration and development project of the Rosetta National Museum. The project aims to enhance the tourist experience and add a new attraction to the city of Rosetta.

Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, emphasized the project's significance and the historical value of the ancient house where the museum is located. He added that the development project would enrich the tourist experience for visitors, both Egyptians and tourists, by highlighting the city's heritage and history through the museum's distinguished archaeological collections.

During the tour, the possibility of enriching the museum's display was discussed, including creating a simulation of the Battle of Rosetta, allocating a hall for holograms, displaying important documents related to the city, using the museum's garden to develop the outdoor display, and providing a library of historical and heritage books.

Osman explained that the restoration and development project involves restoring the archaeological building, preserving its unique architectural elements, and developing a plan to enhance the museum display scenario and define its message and historical and national importance. The project aims to showcase the city's character by highlighting its Islamic history and archaeological treasures from all time periods.

In turn, Saeed Rakha, Director General of the Rosetta National Museum, highlighted the museum's role in holding cultural, heritage, and artistic workshops and events to raise awareness of the city's ancient history and involve all age groups in the community. The museum also collaborates with relevant institutions, attracts artists, craftsmen, and professional photographers, and holds exhibitions dealing with the city's heritage.
