Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) met Monday a delegation from the Indian Embassy in Egypt, headed by R. Jayasree, the Indian consulate to Egypt.
The officials met for talks on joint coordination and to follow up on the conditions of the Indian crew members currently on board the impounded Panamanian container ship "Ever Given" in Ismailia.
The delegation was allowed on board the ship to check on the crew members, a statement by the SCA said.
Rabie also stressed his constant keenness, since the beginning of the crisis, on providing all means of cooperation to the Indian crew on board the ship.
He affirmed his readiness for cooperation and joint coordination on providing for the needs of the crew and understanding related humanitarian aspects, which has been demonstrated by allowing some of the crew members to return to India due to personal reasons in the past weeks.
