The Saudi National Meteorological Center issued a "Red Alert" on Saturday, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by active surface winds in the Mecca region.

This weather advisory includes the provinces of Taif, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, Maysan, and Al-Kamil until the upcoming Tuesday.

The center has issued a "Red Alert" for the Mecca and Maysan regions, along with an "Orange Alert" for the Baha, Al-Hujrat, and Al-Mukhwah regions.

In response, the Civil Defense Directorate in Mecca has called on residents to exercise caution, follow the guidelines and instructions of civil defence in such situations, and stay away from flood channels and valleys.

Earlier this week, the city of Mecca experienced a severe storm on Tuesday evening, accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds.

This adverse weather had an impact on the residents of the area and resulted in damage to properties and buildings.

Footage circulated on social media displayed rainy winds and a severe storm that caught pilgrims at the Grand Mosque off guard, leading to a state of panic.

The Saudi Civil Defense Authority raised the alert level to "Red," urging citizens to stay away from water accumulation, valleys, and dams to ensure their safety.
