Cairo Univ, Saudi Fund to Develop "Al-Qasr Al-Aini"

Dr. Mohamed Osman El Khasht, President of Cairo University, met a delegation of the Saudi Fund for Development, headed by Engineer Ali bin Mohammed Al-Waqayan and discussed the project of developing the Kasr El Aini hospitals within the framework of development projects financed by the Saudi Development Fund.

Al-Khasht welcomed the Saudi delegation and expressed his thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for taking part in many development processes in Egypt. He pointed out that the development of hospitals in the palace of Al-Ain has now reached the stage before the final one. He also mentioned that one of the international offices will be selected as office of the project manager.

The university hospital development plan includes a number of procedures for determining the engineering evaluation of the existing buildings, as well as the procedures of selecting the project manager at the international level, and follow-up the terms and mechanisms of selection, grades and values. The project aims to develop university hospitals and provide the required service to patients.

Al-Khasht said that the emergency unit was developed with Egyptian funding in cooperation with the Armed Forces Engineering Corps.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ghadir Hijazi, Assistant Minister of Investment and International Cooperation of Egypt, and Eng. Nawaf bin Fahad Al-Sunaid from the Saudi Fund for Development.

Al-Khasht confirmed that the development process started on the ground by developing the emergency unit with Egyptian funding in cooperation with the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces.
