Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said Thursday that cooperation with Russia contributed to stabilizing oil markets.
During a joint news conference in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Farhan stated: “We are cooperating with Russia within the OPEC system,” stressing that it contributed to energy stability during the difficult period of the year 2020, that was affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Saudi Foreign Minister pointed out that "The kingdom is working hard to achieve regional stability," asserting that it has succeeded in implementing the Riyadh Agreement in Yemen.
On his part, Lavrov affirmed that his country will continue cooperating with Saudi Arabia in combating the pandemic.
On the other hand, Russia has announced that 1.5 million people around the world have received the “Sputnik-V” vaccine, which Moscow developed against the novel coronavirus.
Arseniy Palagin, a spokesman for the Russian sovereign fund, which financed the development of the vaccine, confirmed this number, without giving details regarding the ratios of people who were vaccinated in the various countries that requested the Russian vaccine, according to the French news agency.
“We cannot determine how many people received it in Moscow and how many in the rest of the world,” Palagin noted.
