Saudi Arabia, UAE Offer $3 Billion in Urgent Aid to Yemeni Economy

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KAS) welcomed the issuance of Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, by the Yemeni constitution and the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanisms, to establish the Presidential Leadership Council to complete the implementation of the tasks of the transitional phase.

In this regard, the Kingdom announced providing urgent aid to the Yemeni economy for $3 billion.

The Kingdom and United Arab Emirates (UAE) pledge to provide $2 billion equally in support of the Central Bank of Yemen to prevent the Yemeni currency from more collapse.

Riyadh also provides one billion US dollars that including $ 600 million for the Yemeni Fund to support the purchase of oil derivatives, and $ 400 million for development projects and initiatives.

The Kingdom also announced that it had provided $300 million to finance the humanitarian response plan announced by the United Nations (UN) for the year 2022, to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and improve their living and service conditions.
