Saudi Foreign Minister (FM) Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud held talks, on Saturday, with the special envoy of Ukrainian President Bektum Rostam in Riyadh, according to SPA news agency.

During the meeting, both officials discussed the Ukrainian crisis.

In this regard, the Saudi Minister affirmed the kingdom’s full support for reducing escalation, protecting civilians, as well as negotiated political solutions and international efforts to resolve the crisis politically.

It is worth mentioning that at least 847 Ukrainian civilians have been killed and 1399 others have been injured since the start of the Russian invasion, according to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

In a statement, the UN office stated that most of the recorded civilian casualties resulted from the use of explosive weapons with a wide-area effect, including heavy artillery, multiple-launch missile systems, missiles, and airstrikes.

The Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office said on Saturday that 112 children have been killed so far in the war in Ukraine.

It also said on Telegram that 140 children had been wounded.

“The highest number of victims were in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, Mykolayiv, and Zhytomyr regions,” it said in a statement.
