Saudi Arabia has set the price of Gasoline 98 at SAR 2.88 per litre for January 2026, making it the most expensive fuel grade available in the domestic market, according to the official petroleum product pricing announced by Saudi Aramco.
The announcement comes shortly after Aramco began rolling out Gasoline 98 earlier this month, targeting sports cars and high-performance vehicles that require higher octane fuel to operate at optimal efficiency.
Aramco said the introduction of Gasoline 98 is part of its broader strategy to expand fuel choices for consumers without affecting the pricing or availability of existing products in the local market. The move reflects growing demand for premium fuels as the Kingdom’s vehicle fleet increasingly includes performance-oriented and technologically advanced models.
Initial availability will be limited to Riyadh, Jeddah, and the Dammam metropolitan area, as well as the highways connecting these cities, where most vehicles requiring high-octane fuel are concentrated. The company said it will assess the possibility of expanding distribution to other regions based on demand levels following the launch.
Gasoline 98 is designed to meet the needs of high-performance engines that require a higher octane rating to prevent engine knocking and ensure smoother operation, improved efficiency, and enhanced durability. Aramco said the product aligns with global fuel standards and supports modern engine technologies.
The launch underscores Aramco’s efforts to adapt to evolving automotive trends while maintaining a diversified fuel portfolio that caters to different consumer segments.
Alongside Gasoline 98, Aramco announced the following prices for January:
Gasoline 91: SAR 2.18 per litre
Gasoline 95: SAR 2.33 per litre
Diesel: SAR 1.79 per litre
Kerosene: SAR 1.59 per litre
Fuel prices in Saudi Arabia are reviewed monthly under the Kingdom’s energy price governance framework, which links domestic pricing to global market movements while ensuring supply stability.
