Saudi Arabia said on Saturday that it stands by Jordan, and supports all measures and decisions taken by King Abdullah II to maintain security and stability.

“The Kingdom stands by the sisterly Kingdom of Jordan and fully supports, with all its capabilities, all decisions and measures taken by King Abdullah II bin and His Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II to maintain security and stability of Jordan," Saudi Royal Court said in a statement.

It is worth mentioning that, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Jordan, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al Hunaiti, confirmed today, Saturday, that Prince Hamzah bin Al-Hussein was asked to stop “movements and activities that aim to target Jordan’s security.”

Jordan News Agency reported in a statement, that “the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al Hunaiti, confirmed today, Saturday, that allegations published about the arrest of Prince Hamzah are baseless, but he indicated that the prince was asked to stop the movements and activities that are used to target the security and stability of Jordan.”

Major General Al-Huneiti said: “investigations are still ongoing,” stressing that “all measures were taken within the framework of the law. “No one is above the law and Jordan’s security and stability are above all.”
