The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, confirmed that peace between the Kingdom and Israel depends on the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Commenting on a number of Arab countries that have signed agreements to normalize relations with Israel, the Saudi minister said that this decision is sovereign for the parties that agreed to this measure. “We hope that it (the decision) will have a primarily positive impact on the peace process, and on achieving what we all aim for, which is a Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem," he added in interview with Al Arabia channel.
On a question about the possibility of signing a peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel, Bin Farhan said that this matter "depends on achieving peace and establishing the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the Arab Peace Initiative.
