Saudi Arabia offers condolences to Egypt over train accident

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed on Sunday deep sorrow over Cairo-Mansoura train accident.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, "SPA", the Saudi Foreign Ministry statement said: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expresses deep sorrow over the train accident in the city of Toukh near the Egyptian capital Cairo.”

The statement added, "The Kingdom expresses its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and to the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt, and wishes a speedy recovery for the injured."

The Governorate of Qalioubia announced in a statement a short while ago, that at least 103 people were injured after a train derailed in Egypt’s Qalioubia province north of Cairo.

 

20 ambulances rushed to the scene to transfer the injured people to hospitals.

Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, and Kamel El Wazir, minister of transportation, went to Qalioubia Governorate to follow up the health conditions of the injured in the hospitals.

On the other hand, Security and medical sources confirmed, that 8 were killed in the accident.
