The source added that Saudi Arabia's government decided to take this step to continue assessing the current situation, and to ensure the safety of citizens and expatriates.

Moreover, the source confirmed on excluding the movement of goods, commodities, and supply chains, as well as allowing the departure of Non-Saudis through flights, in accordance with the precautionary measures adopted by the Ministry of Health.

It is worth mentioning that, several European countries suspended air travel to and from the UK because of a new and seemingly more contagious strain of the coronavirus in England.

On December 14, the UK Minister of Health Matt Hancock announced that researchers had discovered a new strain of coronavirus, which could be the reason behind the rapid spread of “Covid-19” infection in southeast Britain.

He added that the initial analysis indicates that the new strain is spreading very quickly, and its ability to infect may increase the capacity of previous infectious strains by 70%.
