As the 2026 Hajj season approaches, the Saudi Ministry of Interior has issued a stern warning to all citizens, residents, and visitors: "No Hajj Without a Permit." In a move to ensure the safety and organization of the holy pilgrimage, authorities are implementing rigorous new penalties for anyone attempting to perform Hajj illegally.

Hefty Fines and Immediate Deportation

Under the updated regulations, individuals caught performing or attempting to perform Hajj without an official permit will face an immediate fine of 20,000 Saudi Riyals (SAR). The crackdown is not limited to financial penalties; expatriates and those found infiltrating the holy sites illegally will be deported to their home countries.

Long-Term Re-entry Bans

To deter future violations, the Saudi government has confirmed that those deported for Hajj-related offenses will be slapped with a 10-year ban from re-entering the Kingdom. This measure underscores the Ministry's commitment to maintaining the integrity of the permit system, which is designed to manage crowd capacity and provide essential services to pilgrims.

The "No Hajj Without Permit" Campaign

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched a widespread awareness campaign titled "No Hajj Without a Permit." The initiative aims to educate the public on the legal pathways to pilgrimage and the severe consequences of bypassing official channels. Authorities emphasized that these strict measures are necessary to prevent overcrowding and ensure that all legitimate pilgrims can perform their rituals in a safe and spiritually fulfilling environment.

Official Call for Compliance

The Ministry has urged all individuals to adhere strictly to the organizing instructions for this year's Hajj season. With advanced monitoring and checkpoints at all entry points to Mecca, the Saudi security forces are prepared to enforce these laws strictly to guarantee a smooth and secure pilgrimage for millions of Muslims worldwide.
