The Minister of Communications and Information Technology  Amr Talaat affirmed that Egypt has become an attractive destination for many major companies operating in the field of manufacturing electronics to serve the local market and export to regional markets, as a result of the efforts exerted to localize this important industry.

This came during the Minister of Communications and Information Technology's meeting with John Soo Jung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Samsung Electronics - Egypt" and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, it was agreed to establish a Samsung factory to cover the requirements of the company's customers in Egypt on an area of 6,000 square meters in Beni Suef Governorate.

Talaat explained the state's keenness to adopt incentive policies for companies and to provide cadres at the highest level in specializations supporting the electronics industry. He pointed out that the establishment of the new Samsung factory in Beni Suef comes as a continuation of the successful cooperation process with the international company, "Samsung", which resulted in Manufacturing the educational "tablet" in Egypt.

The new factory provides about 1,400 direct and indirect job opportunities for Egyptian workers, especially in Upper Egypt, and it is planned that the construction of the factory will begin during the last quarter of this year, through which modern versions of mobile devices manufactured by Samsung will be produced with Egyptian hands and technology, in addition to the transfer of technology and technical knowledge to the Egyptian market, which in turn confirms the localization of the mobile phone industry in the Egyptian market.
