The Egyptian Chamber of Cinema Industry expressed its rejection of screening "Saheb El Maqam" at the public cinema theaters on Saturday.

In the same context, Youssra told The Insider, "The film was originally produced and would be screened at various cinema theaters, not to be only displayed on digital platforms."

She added, "I have no idea why the chamber rejected the film's screening. I can't get it."

Producer/director Mohamed El Adl indicated, "The chamber's decision came to prevent producers to make use of the advantage of screening new films on platforms, then screening them later at the cinema theaters."

He added that the film wasn't listed on Egypt's OSCAR choices; however, national festivals did not include the film at their official competitions because it wasn't screened at Cinema theaters firstly.

Directed by Mohamed El Adl, "Saheb El Maqam" stars Youssra, Amina Khalil, Asser Yassin, and Bayoumi Foad.

The story of the film was written by iconic author Ibrahim Essa.
