Former Egyptian Minister of Information and Senate Speaker Safwat El-Sherif's son revealed the cause of his father's death, who passed away yesterday at the age of 87, according to Sputnik News agency.
In a press statements to a local newspaper, Ihab El-Sherif said that his father died of 'leukemia', pointing out that he had been suffering from the disease for 6 years.
El-Sherif was hospitalized a few days ago, as a result of leukemia's complications, and not from Coronavirus, as being circulated by social media users, his son stressed.
