Veteran actress Safia El Emari was selected to be the head of Feature Film Competition at Aswan International Women Film Festival (AIWFF), media agencies reported on Saturday.
The actress was also honored during the opening of Ismailia International Film Festival that dedicated to documentary and short films last week.
AIWFF will kick off on June 24 and will last until June 29. Twelve films from 16 countries will participate in the competitions of the upcoming edition.
The participated films include four documentaries and one animated feature. Moreover, two Egyptian films will be internationally premiered for the first time.
Furthermore, six films will be premiered for the first time in Africa and the Middle East during the festival such as "Bad Roads" (Ukraine), "Aristocrats" (Japan), and "La Veronica" (Chile).
