Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi led the Jordanian delegation on Sunday at an extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Arab League convened to discuss Iranian attacks on Arab countries.
The meeting, held via videoconference and chaired by the United Arab Emirates, was requested by Jordan along with Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Egypt.
Safadi condemned what he described as “unjustified Iranian attacks” targeting Jordan and Gulf Arab states, stressing Jordan’s full solidarity with members of the Gulf Cooperation Council and support for measures to protect their citizens, sovereignty and stability.
He said Arab security is indivisible and requires a unified stance against such attacks. Safadi also expressed support for Lebanon’s security and sovereignty and called for intensified efforts to halt aggression against it.
The minister reaffirmed Jordan’s backing for the Palestinian people and their right to statehood, urging stronger Arab coordination to address growing regional security challenges.
The meeting concluded with a resolution condemning the Iranian attacks and affirming Arab solidarity in confronting them.
