On Friday, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) reached an agreement on a 24-hour ceasefire in all parts of Sudan, sponsored by Saudi Arabia and the United States of America (USA).
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Kingdom and the United States "announce that representatives of the SAF Forces and the RSF have reached an agreement."
According to the Saudi Foreign Ministry's announcement, the ceasefire will start at six o'clock on Saturday morning, Khartoum time.
The two warring parties to the conflict in Sudan have already reached ceasefire agreements more than once, but they were not respected.
On Thursday, clashes took place between the SAF and the RSF
near a complex for military industries, south of Khartoum, after the Support Forces announced their control over it.
The support forces announced in a statement, on Wednesday, the achievement of "a new victory with full control of the Yarmouk complex and ammunition depots."
