Prominent TV host Ahmed Mousa commented on the latest developments in the current sugar crisis.
In his program “Ala Masaolity” (On my Responsibility), aired on “Sada ElBalad” TV channel, Mousa affirmed that there is a sugar crisis.
"Crises make merchants take advantage of the high price of sugar and as long as there is a market parallel to the local market for sugar, the prices will rise inexplicably, just like the dollar, which has a parallel market and every place has a different price than the other, " he stated.
"I asked my colleagues about the price of their sugar. They told me it sells at EGP 48, and others told me it was sold at EGP 52,".
He decried that the initiative to reduce prices does not exist in all governorates in the republic.
