S. Korea’s Yoon to Participate in NATO Summit in Lithuania

South Korean's President Yoon Suk-yeol, in a testament to his unwavering commitment to fostering unity with nations sharing common values such as freedom, human rights, and the rule of law, has set off on a significant six-day journey to Lithuania. 

This visit will encompass attending a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit followed by an official visit to Poland.

Marking his second participation in a NATO summit, having previously attended the event held in Spain last year, Yoon aims to strengthen global solidarity among like-minded nations. 

The upcoming NATO gathering, scheduled to be held in Vilnius on Tuesday and Wednesday, will witness the convergence of leaders from 31 member states as well as partner nations, including South Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. 

Eminent topics to be deliberated during the summit encompass the Ukrainian conflict, bolstering collaboration between the military alliance and the Indo-Pacific region, and addressing emerging security challenges, as revealed by the presidential office.

The South Korean president's itinerary will feature a plethora of significant bilateral summits, surpassing ten in number, conducted alongside the main proceedings. Key rendezvous include meetings with prominent leaders from Norway, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Lithuania, Sweden, Slovakia, Estonia, Finland, and Hungary. 

Furthermore, Yoon will seize the opportunity to engage in discussions with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, further amplifying the significance of his diplomatic voyage.
