UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and first lady Kim Keon-hee in the Gulf nation, where they visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

He also acknowledged the vital role of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in introducing Islamic culture and promoting civilized communication between different customs and traditions around the world.
Yoon arrived in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, becoming the first South Korean leader to visit the UAE since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1980.
During his four-day stay, Yoon and Sheikh Mohamed will explore ways to bolster cooperation and opportunities to further anchor the bilateral ties.

On his part, Yoon wrote on Twitter: “Very happy to have had a productive and in-depth discussion. Special Strategic Partnership will be further advanced to the highest level!”
South Korea and the UAE joined forces in the space sector, pooling their expertise to send satellites up.
“President Yoon Suk Yeol’s state visit from January 14 to 17 brings new expectations and hope,” Yoo Jeh Seung, South Korean ambassador to the UAE stated.
“Our two countries have, up to this point, been considered brotherly nations with a special strategic partnership, but now, given the significance of this visit, we see an opportunity to take off for a greater future.”
