South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol affirmed that his country will spare no effort to help North Korea amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

"If North Korea responds (to our support), we will spare no medicines including COVID-19 vaccines, medical equipment and health personnel," said Yoon in a speech at the plenary session of the National Assembly on Monday. He also asserted that he will remain open to humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un blamed his officials for the slow medicine deliveries and mobilized the military to respond to a surge in suspected COVID-19 infections.

The North is struggling to contain the what called fever that has reportedly killed dozens and sickened nearly a million others in a span of three days.

In the same vein, the North Korean health authorities noted that eight more people died on Monday in addition to 392,920 newly found to have feverish symptoms.
