Chair of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov said that Hillary Clinton's statement about a possible conversation between the Russian and American presidents on the day of the storming of the Capitol was a vulgar revenge attempt.

In an interview with Novosti agency, the Russian senator added: "Clinton is a woman who is very hungry for revenge, and she cannot condone Trump because he once prevented her from becoming president."

The Russian MP pointed out that the time of this woman is over and over and "It is better for her to think about her personal life. Her time in politics is over."

Earlier, former US Secretary of State Clinton said that she wanted to know if US President Donald Trump spoke with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on the day of the storming of the Capitol.

Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will leave for their new residence in Florida at 8:00 am EST (3:00 pm Cairo Local Time), the white house revealed in a statement.

In a farewell speech broadcast yesterday, Trump praised what he had achieved during his term, wishing success to the new administration of President-elect Joe Biden, but without mentioning his successor by name.

Republican Trump refused to fully acknowledge his defeat to Democrat Biden, who won the November 3 election with a majority of 306 of the electoral college votes to 232 for Trump.

Biden’s inauguration is scheduled for Wednesday at 12:00 pm EST (6:00 CLT).

The outgoing president will not meet Biden or even attend the swearing-in ceremony as usual in the handover of power. Instead, Trump intends to travel to Florida.

Biden will take the oath as the new US president. Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris is to be sworn in alongside him in Washington DC, which has been fortified amid fears of civil unrest.
