Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly affirmed that the Russian-Ukrainian crisis had repercussions on the African continent and its peoples, as the African citizen feels that his daily life has been negatively affected due to the lack of basic needs,  including fertilizers and grains, especially since exports of Wheat from Russia and Ukraine account for 23% of the world market.

This came during the Prime Minister's speech at the press conference held, in the presence of the heads of the joint African initiative with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.

Madbouly said: “President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi entrusted me with participating today within the framework of Egypt’s strong support for efforts to contribute to settling the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, given the loss of lives left by the raging military conflict, whether military or civilian, and widespread destruction that led to the displacement of millions of civilians and wasted people's capabilities."

He added that since the outbreak of military operations between the two sides, Egypt has adopted a position that elevates the purposes and objectives of the United Nations Charter and the principles of international law, including the sovereignty of states, the preservation of their territorial integrity, and the settlement of disputes by peaceful means.

He continued, "We have listened to President Zelensky's vision of the ongoing crisis and its growing repercussions, and our discussions dealt with a clear and detailed explanation of the African endeavor, which takes into account the repercussions of this crisis, and the challenges it generated that push towards the importance of moving to settle the crisis, away from stagnation and away from the language of force, with resorting to a more understanding approach t to reach political and peaceful solutions.

He explained that Egypt, in the context of its moves with all international partners, has pointed out the need to mobilize international efforts to defuse the crisis, instead of escalating and fueling the conflict.

The Prime Minister concluded his speech by saying: "I hope that our joint African endeavor will resonate, as a voice of reason, wisdom, and a path of righteousness, and we will continue our joint African effort to achieve the ultimate goal of this endeavor, which is peace."
