St. Petersburg University Students Begin Cultural and Academic Visit to Cairo

A delegation of students from St. Petersburg State University has arrived in Cairo for their first academic visit as part of the university’s international mobility program.

The group, consisting of students specializing in international relations and medicine, was welcomed by Dr. Vadim Zaitchikov, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt.

The students’ visit included a key event at the Russian House in Cairo, where Dr. Zaitchikov presented an overview of the cultural centers’ activities in both Cairo and Alexandria, as well as ongoing projects led by the Russian Federal Agency for International Cooperation in Egypt.

He reminded the students that 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Russian public diplomacy, emphasizing the crucial role young professionals play in strengthening international cooperation. “Students are the future of global collaboration,” he noted, highlighting their growing importance in cultural and academic exchange.

The meeting was attended by Nikolai Parvinenok, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Relations at St. Petersburg State University, and Ivan Pechelin, Head of the General Medicine Program at the university’s Cairo branch.

The session proved highly engaging, with students asking numerous questions about Egyptian culture, bilateral activities, and opportunities for Russian-Egyptian collaboration.
