Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stressed on Sunday, that the Ukrainians are not enemies of Russia.
"The Ukrainians are not our enemies at all - those in power there, fanatical nationalists, pose a threat to our security and the security of the Donbass," Medvedev added, in comments reported by Russia Today (RT).
He added that in recent decades no one wanted to listen to Russia's concerns about NATO expansion, noting that the Ukrainian leadership refused to resolve the conflict in Donbass.
Medvedev said those who believe that Crimea is not Russian also constitute a "systemic threat" to Russia.
