Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu held important talks in Egypt yesterday, Monday, foremost among them being his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The visit touched upon strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in trade, economic, and other fields.

A statement issued by the Russian Embassy in Cairo mentioned that Shoigu discussed with President El-Sisi international and regional security, the situation in the Middle East, the construction of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant (Egypt's first nuclear power station), and the development of trade and economic relations.

Shoigu affirmed Russia's commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations with Egypt, noting that these relations are mutually beneficial and should not be subjected to external influences.

Moreover, Shoigu pointed out that Russia and Egypt are successfully implementing major infrastructure projects, including the construction of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant.

He stated: "The Russian state-owned company Rosatom, in cooperation with its Egyptian partners, has launched comprehensive construction work on the main buildings for all the reactors."
