Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergey Lavrov and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, discussed Russian-Saudi relations and the situation in the Middle East during a telephone call on Friday.
According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining the strong momentum of political dialogue between Moscow and Riyadh, while intensifying joint efforts to develop trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
They also exchanged views on significant issues on the international and regional agendas, including the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, the Iranian file, and the crisis in Yemen.
Moreover, both ministers reaffirmed the necessity of encouraging international efforts to de-escalate military and political tensions and prevent further escalation in the Middle East.
