oceans and passing through 10 countries, a team of Russian sailors arrived in Egypt aboard a sailboat. The Russian House in Cairo organized a special meeting for them with members of the Russian community and graduates of Russian universities.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Vadim Zaychikov, Director of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, Arseny Matyushenko, Director of the Russian House in Alexandria, Sherif Gad, President of the Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, and Larisa Razova, Vice President of the Russian Community in Egypt.

Zaychikov welcomed the famous Russian team, stressing that their sailing journeys around the world have become an inspiration for young people due to their achievements, challenges, and spirit of exploration.
The sailors shared details of their global sailing expeditions, explaining the challenges faced by crews during long voyages across seas and oceans, as well as their role in supporting Russian scientists through collecting data and field observations related to ocean studies and environmental issues.

They also highlighted the “Sailing Without Borders” project, which aims to make sailing accessible to all groups, including people with disabilities, promoting equal opportunities and social participation.
During the meeting, Vladimir Dudkin, first assistant to the captain of the “Five Oceans” ship, sailor Evgeny Ostrovsky, and nine-year-old young trainee sailor Dmitry Dudkin shared their personal experiences and lessons learned during the voyage.

The team explained that their journey included different experiences, from the Red Sea to sailing across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and facing strong storms in the Indian Ocean. They emphasized that the ocean strengthens teamwork, cooperation, and the ability to overcome challenges.
Dudkin said this was the team’s second visit to Egypt, adding that they enjoyed the beauty of the country, visited its ancient monuments, and were greatly impressed by the Grand Egyptian Museum, describing it as an amazing global achievement.

Zaychikov explained that in 2025, the Federal Agency for International Cooperation and the “Five Oceans” Club signed a cooperation agreement to establish the “Russian House Under the Sails” project, aimed at introducing Russian heritage to people around the world and strengthening cultural communication between nations.
