The Russian rouble fell to its lowest level in 3 weeks against the dollar and the euro, during trading on Friday.
The rouble remains the world's strongest performing currency this year so far, backed by the Russian government's actions - to protect the financial system from Western sanctions imposed since the Russian operation in Ukraine on February 24.
The dollar rose against the Russian ruble by 0.77% to 62.47 roubles, after reaching its highest level at 64.04 roubles earlier in trading.
The euro also rose against the Russian currency by 0.36% to 63.46 roubles, after reaching its highest level during the day at 65.47 roubles.
