A Russian police officer was killed and another wounded after a vehicle exploded in Moscow on Tuesday, according to official statements.
The explosion occurred near a group of traffic police officers close to the Savyolovsky railway station in the Russian capital, preliminary reports indicated.
Russia’s Investigative Committee said it had opened an investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident and identify those responsible.
No organization has so far claimed responsibility for the blast, and authorities have not disclosed additional details.
Security forces cordoned off the site while forensic teams carried out examinations, as officials continue to treat the explosion as a criminal case pending further findings.
