Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov confirmed today that there are no international obligations preventing the potential deployment of Russian medium-range missiles. He indicated that any decision to deploy nuclear medium-range missiles would depend on actions taken by the United States.

In response to a question regarding the possibility of deploying medium and short-range missiles in Asian countries, Ryabkov stated, "This is certainly one of the options being discussed, particularly in response to any similar American systems appearing anywhere in the world," according to Russia's TASS news agency.

Furthermore, Ryabkov highlighted that the U.S. has not yet engaged with Russia following Moscow’s use of the medium-range "Orishnik" missile.

The Russian diplomat also warned Russia’s adversaries against a "false sense of security" that the U.S. might offer to advance its own interests.

It is noteworthy that last Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the launch of the new hypersonic missile "Orishnik" targeting a Ukrainian arms factory. Until its recent use, this weapon was not publicly known, described by Putin as a "medium-range" ballistic missile capable of reaching targets between 3,000 to 5,500 kilometers away.

According to President Putin, the missile's launch was part of a combat test, indicating that the weapon is still under development. He did not specify the number of systems in existence but threatened further use of the weapon.
