Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, discussed in a phone call the prospects of shifting the conflict—stemming from American and Israeli aggression against Tehran—toward a path of political and diplomatic settlement.
According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers held detailed talks regarding the ongoing grave military and political crisis in the Middle East, which erupted as a result of the unjustified American-Israeli aggression against Iran.
The two sides also exchanged views on opportunities to push the conflict toward a political and diplomatic resolution based on international law, while taking into account the legitimate interests of all countries in the region, including Iran and its neighbors in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The statement added that Lavrov also informed his Iranian counterpart of the dispatch of a new shipment of Russian humanitarian aid to Iran.
