The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday that its air defense systems shot down 140 Ukrainian drones overnight.
The ministry said in a statement carried by the Russian news agency Sputnik that the 140 Ukrainian drones were flying over the territories of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, and Tula regions, the Moscow region, and the Republic of Crimea, as well as over the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
The Russian Defense Ministry also announced that its "Southern" forces had captured the town of Khimik in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, following concentrated operations targeting Kyiv forces, in addition to making advances on the front lines.
The ministry said in a statement carried by Sputnik that Russian armed forces had targeted transport and energy infrastructure facilities, as well as ammunition and fuel depots belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces, over the past 24 hours.
