Russian forces used precision-guided munition to kill 40 Ukrainian soldiers and destroyed seven pieces of military equipment in one day, the Russian defence ministry announced on Wednesday.
Moscow plunged into a new chapter of the Ukraine war on Tuesday, seeking to capture the eastern part of the country and crushing Ukrainian defences.
“Another phase of this operation is starting now,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, as the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its missile and artillery forces had struck hundreds of Ukrainian military targets overnight.
This morning, Ukraine‘s commander in Mariupol, Serhiy Volyna, stated that his forces might be facing their last days amid Russian attacks.
“The enemy is outnumbering us 10 to one,” he said in a video posted on Facebook. “We appeal and plead to all world leaders to help us. We ask them to use the procedure of extraction and take us to the territory of a third-party state.”
