Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergei Lavrov will head to China tomorrow, Monday, on a two-day official visit, to hold talks with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.
Lavrov is scheduled to hold an in-depth exchange of views on a number of current and regional issues, including the Ukrainian crisis and the situation in the Asia-Pacific region,according to a statement issued on Russian Foreign Ministry.
The Russian diplomats said the two foreign ministers will also discuss bilateral cooperation, including “interaction in the international arena with an emphasis on joint work in the United Nations, BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, G20, APEC and other multilateral mechanisms and forums.”
Lavrov visited Beijing in October 2023, and the two sides discussed in detail strengthening cooperation in Eurasia and the prospects for Russia's presidency of the BRICS.
