Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergey Lavrov stated that Israel has been conducting a brutal operation against the Palestinian people since October 7, emphasizing that the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza is unprecedented.
In an interview with "Sky News Arabia," Lavrov pointed out that in the ten months since Israel's military operation in Gaza began, more than twice the number of civilians and Palestinians have been killed compared to the casualties in Donbas over the course of ten years.
He also stressed that Washington continues to block UN Security Council resolutions calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, and that U.S. policy supports the current Israeli leadership's violations in Gaza.
Lavrov added that the most important step at this stage is to achieve a complete ceasefire in Gaza and to initiate serious discussions about establishing a Palestinian state.
