Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergei Lavrov arrived in North Korean capital, Pyongyang.
Earlier this week, Lavrov accompanied Russian President Vladimir Putin on a trip to Beijing, where he held meetings with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian president is also invited to visit North Korea, but the timetable for the possible visit must be coordinated "through diplomatic channels." He did not rule out the possibility of expediting this issue during Lavrov's working visit.
Last month, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made an official visit to Russia, his first since the COVID-19 pandemic.
On September 12, Kim's private train arrived at the Khasan border station, and Kim and Putin met in the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
