Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergey Lavrov arrived in Skopje, North Macedonia, to participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) from November 30 to December 1.
This is Lavrov's first visit to Europe since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, excluding his visits to Belarus and Turkey.
Lavrov's last visit to Europe was on January 21, 2022, when he visited Geneva for talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Lavrov was scheduled to travel to Geneva in March and Belgrade in June 2022, but these trips were canceled due to the closure of European airspace to Russian flights.
