On Saturday, the Russian embassy in Cairo congratulated Egyptian people on New Hijri Year, 1444.

In a post on "Facebook", the embassy wished Egyptians a happy year full of health, success, and prosperity.

On his part, U.S. President Joe Biden congratulated, on Saturday, Muslims all over the world on New Islamic (Hijri) Year 1444.

"As we start this new year, let us recommit to the values of justice, equality, and compassion,” Biden wrote on Twitter.

On this day, Muslims celebrate 1444 years since Islam’s Prophet Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Medina, to save Muslims from torture by leaders of Quraish. Prophet Muhammad wanted to protect the proselytism of Islam from being eradicated by disbelievers at that time.
