The Russian Defense Ministry announced today that its air defense systems detected and destroyed a Ukrainian drone over the territory of Kursk province, noting that there were no casualties or damages.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Russian Defense indicated, "Russian air defense systems thwarted an attempt by the Kiev regime to launch a terrorist attack using an unmanned aircraft over Kursk province in Russian territory. No injuries or damages occurred." The ministry clarified that the Ukrainian attack attempt happened earlier in the morning.
About half an hour prior to this incident, Russian Defense also reported shooting down another Ukrainian drone in the Belgorod province, adjacent to the border with Ukraine, once again confirming that no injuries or damages to infrastructure resulted from this attempt.
On the other side, Ukraine's Interior Minister, Ihor Klymenko, revealed in a post on the "Telegram" app that six people, including an infant, were killed in shelling by Russian forces targeting two villages in the "Kherson" region in southern Ukraine, namely "Stanislav" and "Shyroka Balka".
