On Tuesday, Russia announced new territorial gains on the battlefield, claiming control over two additional villages in Eastern Ukraine, continuing its slow advance that began months ago.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian forces have captured Myasozharivka in the eastern Luhansk region and Tymkivka in the northeastern Kharkiv region, both small villages located along the front line.

Several months ago, the Russian army regained the initiative and made gains on the eastern and southern fronts, albeit without achieving significant progress.

On Monday, Moscow announced its control over a village in one of the few sectors where Ukrainian forces had made advances during their summer counteroffensive.

Last week, Russia also claimed that its forces had taken control of 880 square kilometers in Ukraine since the beginning of 2024 and captured fifty towns.

On May 10, the Russian army launched an offensive in the northeastern Kharkiv region, seizing several positions before being halted by reinforcements sent by Kyiv.

Ukrainian forces are facing shortages of new recruits and weapons due to months of delays in receiving military aid from the West.
